The loving and gentle Dachshund puppy is one of the most well-liked companion dog breeds around the world. A breed so loving, the dachshund was first recognized as a non-sporting dog by the American Kennel Club in 1886. The original use of this breed was baiting, which was eventually outlawed with the establishment of the Cruelty to Animals Act of 1835. This legislative act made the act and Bear baiting both illegal.
